All ammonium salt in the sample is transformed into gaseous ammonia and diffused to a measuring cuvette with quantitative indicator, where the ammonia gas is redissolved to change the color of the indicator. Then, the concentration of ammonia nitrogen in the water sample is obtained by optical determination combined with data processing and calculation.
