Description: Various phosphorous compounds in the water sample are turned into orthophosphoric acid ions by oxidative digestion of potassium persulphate in high-temperature and high-pressure acid environment. Orthophosphoric acid ions react with ammonium molybdate and antimony potassium oxide tartrate to produce phosphomolybdic acid before being reduced by ascorbic acid to produce blue complexes. Then, the concentration of total phosphorus in the water sample is obtained by optical determination combined with data processing and calculation.
