City Traffic Technical Development Center Looks forward to the Future and Independent Innovates

As the building party of Nanjing Metro AFC (automatic fare collection), based on the successful metro line 1, city traffic technical development center looks forward to the future, actively carried out the independent R & D of relative system. The contactless smart-card reader project developed by the company founded a base for the company’s development in the electronics payment field. The project won 2006 “having ideal and competing in contribution” excellent item prize issued by association for science and technology of the company. In 2006, aiming at the situation that the contactless smart-card reader used by AFC system depended fully on import, with the expensive price and maintenance inconvenience, city traffic technical development center established reader R & D developing group. In R & D, the project group analyzed seriously imported reader and ordinary reader in China, combined with the features of metro application, formed a developing idea cored as ARM processor and took embedded operating system as platform. In the R& D phase of the project, members of project group overcame difficulties such as personnel insufficiency and equipment shortage, made breakthroughs at difficulties on ARM system structure and embedded software development, finished such work from principle diagram, PCB drawing to components procurement and components welding. Finally the contactless smart-card reader was developed. It makes an active contribution to PANDA’s development in the field of electronics payment.
