June 9, 2009, the latest Intel Capital Technology Day was hosted by CEC Panda Group at the Panda Electronics in Nanjing, China. Seven portfolio companies that were chosen by Intel Capital conducted technical communications with CEC Panda Group subsidiaries. This event has built a platform for CEC Panda Group and Intel Capital to develop in-depth communication and cooperation in product technologies. Yu Yanqiu, deputy chief executive of CEC Panda, Xu Guofei, President of Panda Electronics, Zhu Lifeng, vice president of Panda Electronics and other executives attended the event.

 

Intel is world famous for its PC chipsets R&D and manufacturing, it also owns many capital companies and technologies from multiple fields like communication and IT. The seven portfolio companies attended for this event are from different countries such as U.S., France and Israel. Luo Bin, Asia Biz development executive of Intel Capital, expected that new technologies brought by their portfolio companies could strike “sparks” with CEC Panda’s industries; at the meantime, he expected a further cooperation with Panda Group in the field of venture capital.

 

Have been founded over two years, CEC Panda Group has been making great effort to build CEC leading manufacturing base. Recently, the Panda Group is working on accomplishing the Three-Year-Planning, accelerating the progress of constructing Bingjiang Electronic Industry Park, Pukou Key Electronic Components Park, Newport 3C Terminal Products Park, and CEC Nanjing Technology Park . Yu Yanqiu stated that CEC, Jiangsu government and Nanjing government holds high expectations for CEC Panda Group reaching its “100-billion level enterprise” goal. CEC Panda Group is now consolidating current industries, building four industry parks; meanwhile, Panda is looking forward to developing new industries. The technology day interacted with Intel Capital is a great opportunity to enhance Panda’s competitiveness for R&D, communication and IT industry. After this event, Panda and Intel Capital will start cooperating in multiple industries such as home multimedia, communication, green power, environmental protection products, rail transmit, electronic equipments,etc.

 

It is revealed that core enterprises of CEC panda, like Panda Electronics has reached a preliminary intent cooperation on digital home multimedia, chipsets, wireless multimedia streaming and mini-projector, the update will be followed.
