Panda Digital Video and Audio R&D Center is a company mainly developing high technologies with long-term commitment to the application, development and programming of the chips for video and audio products. With experts from domestic industries, the Center boasts very rich experience in design of software, hardware, and molds. At present, it has become the site integrating digital video and audio R&D, detection, testing, pilot test and production.
Panda has participated in:
• Formulation of digital TV middleware standards
• Drafting of digital HD TV display device standards and
• Formulation of digital TV terrestrial transmission standards
Product R&D laboratories in fields of digital video and audio, flat panel displays and computer applications have been established in cooperation with world-famous companies, universities and research institutions in China.
Over several years, the Center has scored a series of achievements in the R&D of
• Conditional access, digital TV receiving and decoding,
• CRT/LCD/PDP high definition/standard definition display techniques,
• LCD and LCOS rear projection optical displays,
• Set-top boxes with separate devices and cards, and
• Digital all-in-one system design and other aspects.
Its high-, medium-, and low-end product solutions have been adopted by numerous manufacturers both at home and abroad, achieving an excellent reputation in the industry.
The Center not only has a first-class R&D environment, but also has set up the advanced digital audio and video receiving equipment EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) laboratory, which has passed the accreditation of China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories.
The laboratory is equipped with:
• EMI and EMS testing systems of electromagnetic compatibility from ROHDE & SCHWARZ GmbH,
• Harmonic current testing systems and supporting facilities of a company from California, USA
and can conduct EMC testing of video and audio products in accordance with IEC, CISPER, EN and GB standards for electromagnetic compatibility.
It is equipped with
• Analog TV signal generator of SHIBASOKU,
• HD signal generator of ASTRO,
• colorimeter of Japan’s Minolta Camera Corporation and
• Other electrical property testing systems and associated equipment,
and can measure the electric, optical and acoustic properties of TVs and associated products in accordance with the national and ministerial standards.
The products of the Center have won “First Prize in the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress” and “The Third Prize of the Ministerial Award”. Many products have passed the provincial-level technical appraisal, and won “The Nanjing Award for Scientific and Technological Progress”, “The Nanjing Silver Award” and “The Third Prize for Nanjing Excellent Software”. Over seventy patents have been applied for; with forty nine patents having been granted.
